Derek update!

Derek is doing much better. Odessa actually talked to him on the phone yesterday. He sounded pretty good considering he had jaw surgery a few days ago - though he was concerned that he may not look as good (like he has anything to worry about!). He is eating now, I don't know how or how much but it is not a lot, please continue to pray for his appetite to return. His body is healing amazingly fast, Cricket (his mom) said that new bruises appear everyday but they are gone with in 24 hours! His lungs seem to be clear, he was released from ICU on Monday because his lungs were doing so well. He is finally remembering that his truck is wrecked, and that he got in it to come home but nothing about how the wreck happened. Thank you all so much for your prayers.

On a positive note, the good thing that came out of all of this is that the Rau's driveway is finally in good shape! For those of you who have been up it you know what I am talking about. For those of you who haven't, imagine 2 miles of driving in an earthquake on a roller coaster and thats pretty close. Dale (Derek's dad) decided to have it fully grated and smoothed out so they could bring Derek home. We can actually visit easily now since our car can make it to the house - no more switching everything into Dale and Crickets car just to drive the last two miles :).
