Is there anybody out there!

We seem to have a lack of comments in the world of Kersh. We know that our lives must be oh, so interesting to all of you out there and we would really like to know who you are are. Even if your comment is nothing but "hi" you will make my day!

Anyway on with a real post. Heidi has been back since Thursday, boy was I glad to see her. We met her and my (odessa) family at WINCO in Salem and one of the first things Heidi does is show us the good size scrape she acquired on her knee, in order to do this she lifts up her new dress to past her bellybutton. Yes, Heidi is home and all of WINCO knows the color of the panties she arrived in.

My family then stayed through Sunday, my parents helped do some work around the house for a few days and my brother enjoyed easy internet access and took pictures as he is still in the neck brace (should be off on Friday though!). Below are a few pictures of what we did.
OK so maybe my brother shouldn't have the camera anymore, these are pretty boring. The first picture is of me and Heidi cleaning the bottom vent cover to our fridge, we also did a lot of weeding, moved a tire and started filling it for the center of our raised bed garden, really cleaned the 4 panes (gotta love storm windows) of our kitchen window, and my dad installed a light in our kitchen and one in our dining room (this is pretty big as there was a single light bulb hanging from our ceiling to cover both room before). Well I guess all that we did was pretty boring to, but hey it was progress.

We shall end on a more fun note with a Heidi quote. My in-laws were over today and it was bath time for the girls and after Heidi gave out a generous round of "nakie hugs" (the girl has no shame) I finally got her round into the bathroom. While I was getting the tub ready she asked me if Grandma could wash her. I told her she could ask nicely, but Grandma had every right to say no. Heidi came back with, "She has every right to say yes too." Well you can't argue with that, and I got out of bath time!

I've been blogging for over 3 years now and have a few secrets to share about getting comments. First, your audience responds well to frequent posts. If you are not updating often, people aren't checking very much either. Next, blog about what your audience wants to hear about. Case in point: this week I blogged about my new red coat (12 comments), a beautiful wedding we went to, without pictures (0 comments), and a stolen bike with pictures (8 comments).

People like pictures of cute kids, but that isn't always the ticket because they grow tired of commenting "cute kids." Audiences like drama, pictures, questions, fashion, and decorating from what I have learned. Those are the posts that get the comments. You want something that grabs their attention and says, "I want to add my thoughts about this."

As bloggers, we all love the comments, but don't always get them. Rest assured, people are reading your blog. Add a tracker so you can see who/how many people are looking every day. Sitefeed has a good one.

Well.... after reading the other comment... I'd just like to leave a comment.....

I think cute kids are great.... and it's your family blog, so you should put as many cute kids you want on there..... even if it doesn't "attract attention"! (Cause the people who are reading your blog are looking at it because they want to know about you and what you are up to..... not about random stolen bikes (Unless it's your stolen bike of course). You keep bloggen' away sista'....
