What we've been filling out days with

So Heidi has been gone the better part of 7 days now. I have been able to get on top of some weeding, made SCD friendly pickle relish (It is steller good!), and we have gotten a good way finished with the box stand for our wood stove. We finished putting the box together with a few alterations that needed to be made to be up to code and I tiled the top and front on Saturday until it got to hot to work. Then on Sunday I finished tiling the sides. This has been quite the challenging project, we had to extend the front 4 more inches to meet code, then I had to eyeball all the seams due to the fact the spacers we had were the wrong size for this project. Next step is to build a frame up the wall so we can take the tile all the way to the ceiling....maybe tomorrow!


Heidi will be home on Thursday, I have really missed her. On the phone on Sunday she wanted to know if her friend Emma had come to visit while she was gone, I'm not sure if this is because she misses Emma or if she wanted to make sure her toys were not being played with! Hopefully I will be able to get a few more things done - I miss her but it has been a little nice having it so quiet, though Clara is stepping up to fill Heidi's shoes while she is gone. Clara has discovered her voice and tries to sing loudly, she is also crawling now and has figured out very quickly how to get to the kitchen behind moms feet!
