Our little genius!

WARNING! Parental bragging ahead! We have always though Heidi was a little ahead of the learning curve. We really didn't do any schooling with her at home (I know, bad parents), but this was mostly because she was catching on to concepts so fast she was getting way to far ahead. We know our child, and when she gets bored she can be a handful and a half! We didn't want to bless any teach with anymore Heidi-ness than was necessarily. After thinking about it for awhile and being encouraged by a friend/teacher (OK he actually brought us an application at church), we decided to try Heidi out for kindergarten a full year early at a private school. Today was test day. She came in at above average for spelling, average for reading, and slightly below for math. Not bad, but the twist is the "average" chart didn't even go down to children her age, she had to be evaluated against 5 year olds, which she isn't even 5 until December and 7 months of your life can make a big difference when you are only 4! She is definately above average for her age and we are now the parents of a school age child. Yep, jumping right into 5 days a week haveing to get her out the door and a much more set routine. Boy is she excited!

We may sign her up for Mensa...but that may be overkill.

Wow! I'm sure she'll do great, she is certainly a smart little girl but she's also very sociable and I'm sure she'll do just fine socially as well.

Woo-hoo. Go sweet girl. We're proud of yah! Odessa, she'll be a great addition to MVCA! It truly doesn't surprise me that she tested so high though... you can just tell by her conversation! That's pretty neat. We are both glad that it worked out for you guys!
