Something worth blogging

I have had blogging on the brain for the last few days. There really hasn't been much to blog about. It has just been a normal week of house work, canning, children and other busyness.

I though about doing a post about our awesome college retreat last weekend. We exchanged our 2 kids (thanks mom) for 10 college students and headed to the Christian Renewal Center up near Silver Creek Falls. I would highly recommend the place. They have a few huge rope swings and a zip line, plus hiking at the falls. The think that appealed to me the most was that they do all the cooking and cleaning!! I had 5 meals in a row that I didn't have to cook, clean a face/floor/ table up afterward, or do dishes. Can I get an Amen! Here is our group. They are awesome and we love everyone of them. It is great supervising a group that is all over 18! We can let them pretty much do what they want. It also helps that none of them are trouble makers.

Like I said I though about doing a whole post dedicated to the retreat, but that is about all I am willing to share on that topic.

I also though about doing one on yesterday when the phone rang a gazillion times. Most of the time there was no one on the other side. I still answered it a lot! To the point that Clara was walking up and down the hall, holding a play phone to her ear saying, "Hello, hi, hello, hi, 'dis Odessa, hello, hi!"

But again that was only a thought. For if you are patient, then your children will truly give you something worth blogging about.

Today before lunch I know Clara was tired, but I really wanted to finish what I was doing, which I did with much whining from her. We still sat down at a decent time for lunch at 12:00. At about 12:15 I looked over and saw this:That is still her spoon in her mouth! And yes she is out cold!

Canning count so far: 197 jars on the shelf, 1 broken in the canner, and 3 failed seals.

Do you have a goal for how many jars to can? Or just as many as the stuff that you have?
We figured out the peach problem...don't let me pick them! Apparently I don't know what a truely ripe peach is, and thus the skins do not come off. When we canned the bin that Travis picked it was no problem! 41 jars of peaches, four bags of frozen (with skins ; ), and one dehydrator.
Oh yes, Jeremiah/Lilly's party is coming up around the 10-13th of September area (in case invitations don't make it out as soon as they should!)
