Show and Tell

I know it has be a long time since I have posted and it isn't for lack of ideas, just lack of time. For now I will just pick one topic because it is to cute to pass up!

Every Tuesday at Heidi's school is show and tell. This is something new for Heidi and it took her a little while to figure out what it was. The first week her teacher told her it would be happening she was devastated because "she didn't have an outfit for that." Oh, dear.

She finally took her stuffed care bear because that is what is most special to her and no one else is allowed to play with it, so it is something good to share about.

Week 2 rolls around and I think she has it a little more figured out and I asked her what she wanted to bring and she said Clara! I tried to persuade her other wise, but she insisted that I bring Clara in as her show and tell. I went ahead and made arrangements with her teacher, who said they had never had a sibling brought in as a show and tell before! I think Heidi though she was going to get to have Clara with her all day at school (wouldn't that be nice, sigh) and she insisted that she would take care of her assuring me that teacher wouldn't have to do anything extra. Yeah right!

I was a little late getting her there and when we went into the classroom Clara was announced as "the special show and tell is here." Clara had no idea what was going on!

Heidi took her to the front of the class and said, "This is my baby sister Clara, she is very special to me, but not to special because I let other people play with her to." She then went and sat back down and left Clara there!

Oh, the stories Clara will tell when she is older about being her sisters show and (very short) tell. About how she was second important, next to a purple bear, and how others were "allowed" to play with her with her sisters permission. Isn't sisterly love cute?

And where do you ask has all my time gone??? Well it is time for a canning count: 345 filled successful jars, 6 failed seals (the most I have ever had), and 1 broken jar (Whoo-hoo!). Thats all for now, bye!

That's hilarious! Grace's share day is on Fridays, it will be interesting to see the things she picks to share. I doubt Ethan will be one of them.

I showed and telled my brand new baby sister when I was in 4 year old pre-school. I must admit that my excitement for my little sister had worn off by the time she was Claira's age...

We had a good laugh about that one over here in the hackett house hold. That face Claira is priceless too!

Oh, so funny!! Everything about it--the devastation about not having an outfit, the differences between Heidi's perception of her show-and-tell "items," and clueless Clara at the mercy of her big sister.
So how do I get a link to your blog on mine? I have no idea how.
