Last week Heidi was ripe with quotes. Here are a few that stick out in my memory:
Last week one day at about 6:45 in the a.m. she came running out of bed still half asleep and looked at me in the bathroom. I said good morning and asked her how she was doing. She said, "Fine, I am going into the living room to think." Five minutes later I went to check on her and she was curled up on the couch under a blanked. I asked her if she was done thinking and what she had been thinking about. Her reply, "Superheros". What a way to start the day!
Quote #2 came when we were on our way home from WA this weekend and were passing the golf course on Hwy. 22. Heidi decided that she knew all about golf and would like to share it. This was the beginning of the conversation that followed.
Heidi, "Daddy, do you want to hear about golf?"
Jeff, "Sure honey" (anything to keep you happy at the end of a 3 hour car ride)
Heidi, "Mommy, do you want to hear about golf?"
Odessa, "Sure honey" (anything to keep you happy at the end of a 3 hour car ride)
Heidi, "Clara, do you want to hear about golf?"
Clara, "NOOOOO!" in a long sing-songy voice
Heidi, "Well then plug your ears, because I'm going to say it!"
And finally the icing on the cake. Later the same night as the above we were on our way home from the grocery store when Heidi decided we all needed nick-names. Her choice for me was, "Lady-wood-dungeon-woman." I didn't know whether to feel like a super hero or a villain for a little while! It changed a few minutes later to American flag so she could pledge to me.

I pledge allegiance to my mom, who teaches me the world. How cute is that!
You have to love those quotes that make living with children absolutely worth all the work they take! Love you, Heidi, Granma Cricket
