Two weekends ago we went garage-saleing. Oh, what fun you can have with a double stroller and a small neighborhood! Heidi usually brings some of her own money when we go; and without fail so far this year, she has brought home a Wiggles movie every time. This last trip was slightly more profitable - in my opinion. We found a Magna Doodle! With several tracing stencils and sheets and a spirograph attachment for a $1, yes $1! It took a little on our part to convince Heidi this was something cool and worth spending her money on. But we have now gotten 9 days of enjoyment out of it, and she plays with it well over an hour each day. That is like making $200 an hour on Mommy time! This morning she enjoyed playing with it under our very full apple tree.
And this morning at breakfast she asked the ever important question, "Do chickens swim?" I told her I didn't know (but I had fun imagining how to find it out!). Please let me know if you know the answer.
A quick Jeff update, he is doing well. He ate lettuce yesterday for the first time in three years and he seems to be doing fine. Kinda weird since lettuce use to be one of the problem causers, or so we thought. He does get tired easily, but weighing 110 means there is not a lot of muscle there to keep you going. In time this will get better, but for now it means that he gets weekend afternoon naps - boy that makes it hard to not get jealous...actually I did pretty bad, I wore the jealousy on my sleeves, but I have a very gracious husband who didn't rub it in my face. But I got "sort-of" a nap on Sunday, that is to say one on the couch, with Heidi crawling on me (she has very boney elbows) while the Wiggles were on TV. It was a great afternoon.

I'm excited to see a blog portraying an elaborate magna-doodle version of a swimming chicken! Maybe it's because I'm an art teacher.... or maybe it's because that's just an exciting thought overall!
