Busy, Busy, Busy!

We have been very busy wrapping up the food preserving time of year and that is pretty much all we have gotten to lately. My mom and brother came up this last weekend to help with the girls and we went crazy getting stuff done.

On Saturday, we pressed cider with some friends and did about 60 gallons! We filled their freezer and ours and any other container we could find. Although Monday we went into our garage and discover that the expansion from freezing forced open the door to the freezer, 2 jugs fell out (luckily they didn't break) and propped the door wide open!! AHHHH!! We didn't really loose anything but a few things leaked so we now have sticky stuff over the packaging of a lot of good stuff. We also have a lot of cider to drink quickly, since there is nowhere to put it.

Saturday was also the harvest party for the college group that Jeff and I lead. We had a very good turnout and had alot of fun carving pumpkins, eating and pressing more cider.

On Sunday we took the girls to the pumpkin patch. We had a lot of fun on the hay ride and the mazes, Clara wasn't to sure about the grain pit, but unfortunately the batteries went dead in the camera before I could get a picture of her funny face and her hand up in the air so she wouldn't touch the grain.Apparently the dirt was very interesting because I couldn't get either of the girls to look up!Heidi on the John Deere Trike!

I was pooped by Monday, but my mom wanted to stay another day to get stuff done around the house. This woman has an insane amount of energy, and she stayed up until 2:00 a.m. almost every night she was here! I was in bed no later than 11! Anyway, we got the nasty grout scraped off of half the tile that it is stuck on after my mistake of not washing it off quick enough, and my mom sanded my craigslist find dresser I have been waiting to paint.

Tuesday was MoPS Operation Christmas Child meeting, which is always a busy one for me. I was hoping to come home and relax, maybe even take a nap. BUT NO!! We got a call on our Matrix that is for sale and they wanted to come see it that evening, so I spent 3 hours organizing all the maintenance receipts, finding the title, cleaning and vacuuming the car.

Well after all of that I have a choice. Both girls are asleep should I start in on the last of the tomatoes that I need to put up or should take a nap? I will let you know my choice tomorrow.
