Clara turns 2 on Thursday! Boy did that go fast, especially these last 6 months. She waited so long to do so many things and then just sort of exploded in the world of the reaching mile stones of growing up. We celebrated her birthday yesterday (look at that I am blogging about it the day after it happened, that is pretty good for me!), it was so much
caos and fun!
We just had a few friends over, but as we are all of child having age, the children quickly outnumbered the adults at 7 to 5! Ages almost 5 to 2 and a half weeks.
As we have always done with all our birthday parties for our children, we let them pick what they want and then add in a few things to balance it out and to express their favorite things of the year. In the past we have had strawberry shortcake in December and a
P.J. party with even parents participating! This was Clara's first real chance to have some in put on the party, her choices were - popcorn, balloons, and yellow! We had fun with that with some extra balloons we had and I even scrounged up a table cloth with cats holding balloons. When Clara got up from her nap yesterday, all she could say was "a-boon, a-boon!" She loved it! We balanced it out with a make your own pizza activity (which is Clara's favorite food), yummy grown up snacks, and mixed up a batch of big bubbles. But enough rambling, here are some pictures of the party:

Opening gifts, Clara is the slowest gift opener ever - each piece of tape is a gift.

She is covered in foam from the bucked of bubble solution, I just considered it as
pre-treating her dress to wash before she covered it in pizza and cupcake!

Here are most of the kiddos enjoying their pizza. They had a lot of fun making them and if the picture were bigger the state of the floor would prove that. Jeff then cooked the pizzas on the grill, they turned out pretty well.

Here she is with her yellow cupcake-cake! She even got her own candles out on her 3rd try. Did you notice the oh so
themey balloon cupcake papers? They were my only party purchase for this one. I love simple, fun birthday parties!

So bummed we missed it! I thought she didn't like yellow at all? we'll call her on her actual birthday and I'm sure confuse her!
Happy Birthday Clara, it looks like you had fun. Luv you....Granma Cricket
It's so nice to see pictures of the girls. I was shocked by how well Clara was talking on the phone the other day--I miss seeing her and Heidi growing up!
