Unfortunately for Clara the other guy in this case was the edge of the bathtub. She was taking a shower all by herself the other night like a big girl. All of a sudden we heard quite the crash (Jeff believes that just before the crash he heard her trying to hop in the tub which probably lead to the crash). We both run in to grab her and she had a stream of blood running down her body from some where near her right eye. We got her calmed down and clean up rather quickly and the blood stopped really fast, but the lovely 3/4 inch gash in her eyelid stayed open. We kept going back and forth about wether or not we should go to ER, but would they even attempt stitches in a 2 year old's eyelid? We decided to put her to bed and watch for signs of a concussion. Here is what we woke up to:
Let me give you a closer look:
We did actually take her to Dallas ER after church the next day because it started getting red around the edges and we didn't know how to treat a wound so close to the eye to prevent infection (FYI, it is OK to put antibiotic ointment this close to an eye). They said keep it clean a watch for infection and she didn't have a concussion - good thing the whole ER visit was only a half hour because we didn't really need much help.
So for now it looks like we have a boxer for a daughter and hopefully she won't have to much of a scare.

No more monkey's jumping in the shower!
Easy make-up fix if there is a scar, and a perfect "remember the time..." story (used for informational purposes for future teenage fights and boyfriends)great for getting an eye roll I'm sure!
Wow, Clara, what a story to tell when you get older!! Scars, we all have them, her first one just came earlier than some. Good thing she's a tough one. : )
