Hair!

I love little girls hair, it is just so fun and cute once you go through excruciating task of styling it. I have been wanting to do a hair post for quite some time now but things but things kept up and the post kept getting longer and so on and so on. WELL today is the day! And you will see why at the end of this post! I will warn you now that this is a photo dump of the last year of cute girly hair. And please keep in mind I am not a photographer or good photo editer - infact the photo editing program just completely dissapeared off our old computer, possible because it was being ignored! To start us off, here are some before and afters of some things we did with Heidi's hair this year:
Before (I love braids!)After

Before! We had fun with this one!

Before version #2
After

I loved doing things with Heidi's hair. Unfortunately for all the things we did above she has hair just like her daddies - 3 cowlicks, high forehead, and bone strait! All of the above afters fell out in about 2 hours. But it was fun while it lasted!

Photo batch #2 is all about Heidi learning to do hair, she has learned to do:
Clara's,

Mine,

and Jeff's! (she also took this picture all by herself!)

Here is a bonus picture of what Heidi learned to do with Clara's wet hair!

Clara has also been learning to do her own hair, unfortunately it wasn't always in the right place:
Can you believe I was standing about 10 feet away the whole time she was doing this!
This is the proper way to dry your hair.

While I am on the topic of hair I have to give one last reminder of bad hair of the year:
R.I.P!

Now on the some more cute hair. Clara has finally grown enough hair to put a few pretties in and she use to leave them in. She won't anymore, now her new trick is to get her "bangs" (which I am determined not to cut) stuck in her boogies! Don't worry I didn't take a picture of that.
Look! It can hold a clip!
This is one of my favorite pictures.
Big girl hair!

About 14 monthes ago I cut my hair off for the second time to donate for Locks of Love, a place that makes wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment and have lost their hair. My short hair loven' 4 year old decided she wanted to do that too. So for 14 months now, other than a few trims and cutting her bangs, Heidi has been growing her hair out. Today is the day she donates her hair - I am so proud of her!

Ta-da! I did it!!!

All set to go for my first professional haircut!
And the side....
And the back.

I hope you have enjoyed this journey of the last year with us!

I still can't believe Heidi's hair is off! No more braids for awhile. Wow. Brave girl Heidi!! Needless to say, it was Clara's 'beard' which made me laugh! Too cute, they are just too cute. Granma Cricket

what fun!! some of my favorite memories of childhood was playing "barber" or "salon" with my mom and sisters, styling my mom's hair up with ponytails and barettes :) love all the photos--you have a lot of patience with all the hair styles. my favorite was heidi's curls. very pretty. that is so cool that heidi cut her hair for locks of love. she looks stinkin' cute with short hair, and she's got some sass too! :) hannah
